Sidi Vortice Boot at Bikegear
Constructed of Lorica and lined with Teflon vented mesh, only Sidi goes to the trouble and expense of creating a multiple liner boot system in it's racing boots.
Lorica is a composite micro fiber material created from strands that are so fine, each one is less than one thousandth the thickness of a strand of silk. When injected with special resins, these fibers act like natural leather skin but with the addition of greater strength, softer texture, lighter weight and better moisture protection.
Sidi has also added a small elastic panel to aid smooth zipper operation as the zipper passes over the riders ankle bone.
The upper part of the boot is made up of the following:
- The "Tecno Calf Tensioner" mechanism adjusts the leg circumference.
- The "Tecno Shin Tensioner" mechanism helps the Tecno Calf Tensioner close the leg upper on the front part of the boot. The two lateral Nylon ankle braces allow excellent flex movement front to back whilst being firm side to side.
The Sidi Vortice also features the following:
- The "Tecno Instep Tensioner" is a fastening across the instep that holds the foot firm in the boot.
- Shock absorbing heel cup.
- Shin Plates.
- Gear change pad.
- The "Vortice Slider" is a toe slider made from Nylon reinforced with fiberglass and an alloy plate over the top. It also feature an air vent for imporved warm weather comfort.
